Art Garfunkel Gets Choked Up Reuniting With Paul Simon After 14 Years

After more than 14 years apart, Art Garfunkel and Paul Simon recently reunited, and it was emotional. In a chat with The Sun, Garfunkel shared the feels from their private meetup.

“We had lunch. It was really warm and wonderful. There were tears,” Garfunkel confessed. “I was crying because I thought I had hurt him – but we hugged it out.”

The duo’s split after their 1970 album Bridge Over Troubled Water is still a touchy subject, but Garfunkel seems to carry the guilt. Last year, Simon made it clear that he doesn’t blame Garfunkel, though. No one’s pointing fingers, but clearly, there’s still love between them.

Garfunkel, now the self-proclaimed “man of love,” says he doesn’t hold grudges. “I love everyone. Life’s too short for dislike,” he explained, ever the optimist.

As for Simon, after revealing he has hearing loss, he’s still not sure about performing again. But he’s feeling more hopeful about it than before. Meanwhile, Garfunkel’s got a new album dropping with his son, appropriately called Father and Son, on November 8. So, looks like there’s no bad blood, just a lot of love—and maybe a little music—left to share.
