While my mum not making the list is disappointing, the LEGO group, yes that LEGO, conducted a survey of 2,000 parents of girls who are aged between six and ten to find out the women that they most look to in need of inspiration.
This survey comes as the toy company are wanting to help young females their full potential through numerous programs, with one being ‘Unstoppable FC’ which helps young girls build skills like resilience and confidence.
The study showed that the qualities the parents look for in their idols are resilience according to 54 percent of the parents, determination (65 percent), passion (62 percent), and compassion (54 percent).
According to the surveyed parents, 89 percent of them believe that their daughters are more ambitious than they were at similar ages and a whopping 96 percent believe that their daughters are capable of breaking down barriers that they were unable to overcome in their childhood.
Voted in as the most inspirational female is none other than former US First Lady Michelle Obama who is now a successful author and attorney.
Emma Watson, most famous for her role as Hermione Granger in Harry Potter was voted in at second place as she now uses her platform for women’s rights.
Sharing second place with Watson is the late great Marie Curie who was a double Nobel Prize-winning physicist and Chemist.
