Malcolm In The Middle Getting Reboot With Original Cast

The beloved sitcom “Malcolm in the Middle” is officially making a comeback, and fans have every reason to be excited because original stars Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, and Jane Kaczmarek are confirmed to be stepping back into their iconic roles as Malcolm, Hal, and Lois.

This time, the chaos resumes on Disney+ with four brand-new episodes written by the show’s original creator, Linwood Boomer. While a premiere date hasn’t been announced yet, the excitement is already building.

The official synopsis says that “In these brand-new episodes, Malcolm and his daughter are drawn into the family’s chaos when Hal and Lois demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party.”

President of Disney Branded Television Ayo Davis said that “‘Malcolm in the Middle’ is a landmark sitcom that captured the essence of family life with humor, heart and relatability”.

Davis added that “Its hilarious and heartfelt portrayal of a lovably chaotic family resonated with audiences of all ages, and we’re so excited to welcome the original cast back to bring that magic to life again. With Linwood Boomer and the creative team at the helm, these new episodes will have all the laughs, pranks, and mayhem fans loved — along with a few surprises that remind us why this show is so timeless.”

Karey Burke, president of 20th Television, echoed the sentiment saying “Malcolm in the Middle literally changed the face of the television comedy landscape when it premiered two decades ago, redefining what the genre could be”.

The original “Malcolm in the Middle” ran for seven seasons on Fox from 2000 to 2006, delivering 151 episodes packed with hilarious family antics.

Over its run, it earned 33 Emmy nominations and won seven awards. The original cast included Muniz, Cranston, Kaczmarek, Justin Berfield, Erik Per Sullivan, and Christopher Masterson.
