A man in his 40s is fighting for life after a serious two-car crash on the Bruce Highway.
The rescue chopper was called to Kuttabul just before 9am yesterday, after a ute towing a caravan and a station wagon collided at the intersection of Narpi Road.
The driver of the station wagon was freed from the wreckage and flown to Mackay Base Hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Both lanes of the Bruce Highway were closed but have since reopened.
The forensic crash unit is investigating.
