A police officer from the Central Region has been stood down, after being arrested.
The 50-year-old inspector has been charged with one count each of fraud and attempt to pervert the course of justice.
He has been released on conditional bail and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 24.
The officer has been suspended from duty with the Queensland Police Service.
A statement from QPS reads, “In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct.”
“This does not mean that the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.”
