A man has died after wrapping his car around a light pole at Paget.
Around 12.40pm Monday, the blue Ford Falcon smashed into the pole on Archibald Street, nearly splitting the car in half.
The driver, a 22-year-old Ooralea man, was taken to Mackay Base Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Investigations are continuing and anyone with relevant information or dashcam is urged to contact police.
