The Cowboys have claimed their first victory of the season defeating the Raiders at Queensland Country Bank Stadium, in Townsville.
30 to 20 was the final score on Saturday afternoon – with half back Jake Clifford starring for North Queensland, scoring two tries, proving himself after starting the season in the Queensland Cup.
In a post-game interview, Coach Todd Payten couldn’t confirm if Jeremiah Nanai was close to winning back a starting jersey, with Kai O’Donnell continuing to shine in the backrower’s spot.

However, he says he’s proud of the way the team has stuck together after a challenging start to the season. The Cowboys will now prepare to play the Penrith Panthers on Friday night.
