Teacher Being Art Exhibition by local artist and educator Lanna Astell Mack will run from the 19th- 30th of October at CQU’s Gallery 31, 10am-4pm daily.

The exhibition aims to initiate conversations with teachers, students, parents and the community about our highlights and issues; our strengths and self-doubts; our pride and disappointments; our sinking or swimming – all within the context of the current turbulence in education.

Displayed are approximately 20 painted teacher portraits from the Mackay region accompanied with video footage of their teaching highlights.

An installation sculptural artwork will feature, along with acrylic and ink artworks available for purchase.

Mayor Greg Williamson will be opening the event on the Opening Night, 20th October 6-8pm
