A woman has been killed and her son left with significant burns in a house fire at Sarina.
Emergency services were called to the Kathleen Street property around 4.25pm yesterday finding the building fully alight.
The fire was contained, but a search of the house found the body of a 71-year-old woman.

The woman’s son has suffered possibly life-threatening burns to his arms trying to save her.
He was taken to Mackay Hospital along with two stable firefighters that responded.
A crime scene has been declared, and investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
