4MK supports Volunteer Marine Rescue in all aspects of marine safety.

From our base at the Mackay harbour we provide a range of services to both members and non members. Volunteer Marine Rescue Mackay provides search, rescue, medivac and marine radio monitoring for the boating community. We have two rescue vessels and crews on call 24/7 all year round. More people are buying bigger boats and going out further for fishing and recreational boating. The VMR has to keep up with them. Help maintain the service of the VMR Marine Vessel with a donation for this VMR boat – all donations over $2 are tax deductible. Currently boat owners can become a member of the VMR for around $50 a year – these annual fees will assist you in an emergency at sea and enable the VMR to get to you quickly and secure your safety, with minimum fuss and cost.
